Howdy! I’m Russ Beebe. I used to be the owner of California Wine Hikes Guided Tours but, darn it, the faltering economy of the 2008-2010 period simply didn’t allow me to reach the goals I had set for my humble little enterprise. Luxury adventure travel pursuits didn’t seem to fit with people’s diminished budgets and, as a result, I’ve put my “playcation” strategies on hold for the time being.

I’ve come to peaceful terms with it.

And that’s probably because I’m still out there organizing group hikes – and washing down the trail dust – with friends new and old. If you think you’d like to join me on the trail and in the tasting room, simply message me on Twitter (@winehiker) or Facebook, or leave a comment here on my blog.

California Wine Hikes: the quintessential California wine country experience.

From my former website, californiawinehikes.com, here’s a little more about me:

“Being outdoors most of my life, I’ve learned a great many things about wilderness ethics, trip planning, group dynamics, reading the land and the weather, and I’ve also developed a passion – and a palate – for fine wine. There’s a wonderful intersection between the natural world and wine that I find refreshingly remarkable and, whether it’s identifying a bird or a tree or discussing the nuances of a fine Rhone-style blend, I’ll tell you this much: the winehiking experience sure seems to resonate with people.

“Throughout my journeys, I’ve discovered that people really love to combine an outdoor experience with a healthy meal and California’s finest wines. As a result, I created California Wine Hikes so that I could guide wine lovers and adventurers from around the world to these same rejuvenating and memorable experiences.”

OK, so 99.44% of that still holds true. Your adventures await! And I am happy to guide you to them, on the trail and in the tasting room. Lace up your hiking shoes, and let’s have us a little California-inspired fun.

Adventure awaits on that inviting trail ahead!

Happy wine trails,
